KECK SHIRLEY (PAINTER) Of Ligonier, PA, and Annapolis, MD, died January 17, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Anna (Plubell) and Arthur C. Painter; and beloved wife for 59 years of Dr. Paul E. Keck; she was the devoted mother of five sons, Dr. Paul E. Keck, Jr. (Susan) of Cincinnati, OH, Eric C. Keck (Kristen) of Philadelphia, PA, Jordie A. Keck (Maureen) of Annandale, VA, Christopher T. Keck of Alexandria, VA, and Mark C. Keck of Dallas, TX; she was the proud grandmother of Timothy, Jason, Brennen, Bryson, Ryan and Molly Keck. Mrs. Keck was predeceased by her brother, Arthur C. Painter, Jr. of Walnut Creek, CA. Mrs. Keck graduated from Coraopolis High School and was a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. She taught in the Baldwin- Whitehall schools and at the US Air Force school in Madrid, Spain where her husband was stationed. She was a terrifically devoted mother to her five children, endured countless years washing dirty sports clothes, and gloried in the achievements of her children and grandchildren. She tried to instill a love of learning and respect for human kindness in her children.
