KVORJAK ALBERT R. Of Braddock Hills, age 92, on Independence Day, July 4, 2013. Devoted husband of Grace P. (Lichka) Kvorjak for 66 years; loving father of Grace Kvorjak, Albert R. Kvorjak, Jr (Frances). and the late Carol Kennell (surviving spouse, Tom); dear grandfather of Patrick Kennell, Mark, Michael and Matthew Kvorjak; also survived by nieces and nephews. Al was the last survivor of ten brothers and sisters. Al was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran with the rank of Master Sergeant. He served as Crew Chief on the B-24 known as "The Sod Buster". For his meritorious service, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, along with numerous other medals. After WWII, he became employed at the Edgar Thomson Plant of US Steel and later graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, where he attended on the G.I. Bill. He retired from US Steel as the Supervisor of Power and Fuel at the E.T. Plant. Al also served as a member of the Braddock Hills Borough Council for 8 years and as President of the Braddock Hills Senior Citizens for 15 years.
