DOMINICK GEORGE CLARKE 66, of Kingwood, TX, died July 2. Born March 20, 1947, in McKeesport, he was the son of A.T. Dolly and Doris (Clarke) Dominick and the husband of Leslie (Roolf) Dominick. A graduate of Port Vue Liberty High School, Clarke earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Penn State and his Masters at Webster University. He worked at Boeing and McDonnell Douglas, and acquired three patents for Union Carbide. He served in the U.S. Navy as a F4 fighter pilot, setting a record for night carrier landings, and served as an instructor in Air Combat Maneuvering. Clarke retired from Continental Airlines as a Captain Pilot. An avid runner, he played adult soccer, even after lung cancer, and coached his children every year in baseball, soccer and basketball. Clarke had a passion for exotic machinery, from cars to computers, that was a lifelong pursuit. He was devoted to his family, and while he rebuffed any praise, he had great impact on the lives of everyone with whom he came in contact. Survivors also include children, Shannon (Jorge) Mariscal and G. Clarke, Jr. (Stacy); grandson, Noah Perseus Dominick, born last year to Clarke's everlasting delight; brother, Todd of Pittsburgh; aunt, Elizabeth Kessling; cousins, Sally Ann Kessling and Bill Kessling; and many, many cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Visitation will be at WILLIG FUNERAL HOME on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to local food banks or animal shelters.
