GIPKO JOHN GIPPER On Thursday, February 13, 2014, John Edward Gipper Gipko, age 77, of Scott Twp., passed peacefully of natural causes in one of his favorite destinations, Hollywood, FL, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Marion Gilardi Gipko; and son of the late John and Pearl Boris Gipko. He is survived by his children, Mary Ellen Buzzelli, Susie Chunn, P.J. (Ellen), and Chris; he was the brother of George (Tracy) Gipko and the late Kim Haliko (Jim), and Judith Pappa; he is also survived by the joys of his life, his eight grandchildren and six great- grandchildren; in addition, he is survived by his son-in-law, John Buzzelli, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was a known basketball enthusiast and was engaged in coaching, running leagues, and participation in the former Dapper Dan Roundball Classic. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his honor to the Jimmy V. Foundation, 106 Towerview Court, Cary, NC 27513. Family and friends will be received Friday 2-9 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp.
