CASPER STEPHEN J. Of Ocala, FL, 64, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Mr. Casper had moved to Ocala in October of 2013. He had worked as a structural engineer in Exeter, New Hampshire with Waldron Engineering for several years before retiring due to illness. Steve loved the outdoors and had hiked the Appalachian Trail eight months in 1999, starting at Springer Mountain in Georgia and ending in Rangley, Maine. He and Patti, his wife and companion of almost 25 years, took their "Bucket List" trip in 2009, traveling through 33 states in 11 weeks; a trip they will never regret. He hiked a large portion of the Cross Florida Greenway in 2013. Steve wanted to keep on walking. His wish is for his cremated remains to be scattered from the top of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire on the Appalachian Trail. He is survived by his loving wife, Patti; and his sister, Stephanie Antoinette (Sissy) Casper, Pittsburgh, PA.
