CARTER HARRY 88, of Finleyville, died Friday, March 7, 2014, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Jefferson Hills Borough. He was born October 25, 1925, in Gastonville, a son of Harry and Edith Phillips Carter. Mr. Carter was a 1943 graduate of Clairton High School and was retired as an accountant with the former LTV Steel Corporation. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, was a member of American Legion Post 613 in Finleyville, and was instrumental in the restoration and maintenance of the Gastonville Honor Roll. Surviving are his wife, Juanita Balliard Carter; two daughters, Amy Bozick and her husband, Michael, of Marianna and Holly Jones and her husband, Bill, of Allison Park; and two grandsons, Ryan and Justin Wolfe. Deceased is a sister, Edith Knoedler. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at KEGEL FUNERAL HOME, INC., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, where Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014, with Pastor Brent Furlong, officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. American Legion Post 613 will conduct Services at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
