BRIGGS ROBERT, Jr. Age 88, of Monroeville, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Flora L. (Twardowski) Briggs; loving father of Kathy (Joel) Ball, Debbie (Jack) Cross, and Robert (Meribeth) Briggs; devoted grandfather of Deanna (William) Supancic, Jessica Briggs, Matthew (Kristina) Cross, Melissa (Joseph) Hyzy, Lisa and Holly Cross; great-grandfather of Grace Supancic, Anthony and Lukas Cross; brother of Margaret Ellen (late Lou) Babuscio, Tony Briggs, the late Ruth (late John) Brown, and George Briggs; also several nieces and nephews. Bob served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a longtime member of St. Colman Church, the Turtle Creek VFW and retired from Edgar Thomson Steel in Braddock. Bob was a huge Pittsburgh sports fan. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., corner of (118) Shaw and Triboro Avenues, Turtle Creek (412-823-1950). Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 9:30 a.m. at St. Colman Parish. Interment with Full Military Honors to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
