SLATER AUDREY ELEANOR (DOUGLAS) Age 86, of New Brighton, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014, peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Audrey was born May 8, 1927, and spent her life raising and loving her children and grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered for her beautiful heart and enduring strength. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Stroeman Douglas and had spent her last 16 years in New Brighton, having previously lived in Center Township and several other places. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Francis Slater, in 1973; and two sisters, Lois Siebert and Sally Taylor. Surviving are her children, Della Roeder, New Brighton, Tina (Buzz) Graff, New Brighton, Richard (Kathy Caldwell) Slater, Wichita Falls, TX, Cindy (George) Tesnovich, New Brighton, Susan Slater, Sewickley, and Michael Slater, New Brighton; 12 grandchildren, Audrey, Scott, Suni, Amy and Ricky, Frederick and Zarah, Joshua, T.J. and Chelsea, Sara, Caleb, Kia, Chloe and Katherine; five grandchildren, Devin, Avery, Chloe, Ella and Sophie; and a brother, William Douglas. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 1 p.m. in the TODD FUNERAL HOME, 340 Third Street, Beaver. Send condolences at post-gazette.com/gb
