KURTZ EDWARD R. Age 80, of Fox Chapel, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 11, 2014, at his residence. Beloved husband of Earlene (Hight) Kurtz; dear brother of Frances (the late Joseph) Henke-Harris, Ruth (the late Walter) Duncan, and the late Phillip Kurtz; brother-in-law of Dolores (the late William) Doak, Lois (David) Jones, and Shirley Arce; uncle of Scot, Karen, and Craig Kurtz and their families, Christopher, Kristie, and Jason Jones and their families, David Doak, and the late Cindie Rae Kontor. Ed was an alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, was active in the Veteran's Progams at the VA in Aspinwall, and attended the HOPE Program at HealthSouth in Harmarville. Friends and relatives will be received on Monday, April 14, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET - TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont.
