CARUSO SAMUEL H. "SAM" After fighting a short, courageous battle with cancer, Samuel Caruso, age 84, formerly of Carrick, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Sam was preceded in death by his dearly loved wife, Sophie (Antzas) Caruso; parents, Enrico and Clara (DiSalvo) Caruso; brother, Alfred Caruso; and sister, Elvira Fess. Sam leaves behind his loving family, daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Larry Wallace; grandchildren, Danielle, Larry, and Nicole Wallace; brother-in-law, Nick Fess; sister-in-law, Connie DeFilippo; godson, Henry Caruso; goddaughter, Lynne St. Hilaire; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Sam touched the lives of everyone he met. He especially loved spending time with his family, going to his grandchildren's games, taking his daily walks on Brownsville Road, enjoying St. Gabriel's fish fries, attending 4 p.m. Saturday Mass at St. Sylvester's Church, visiting friends and family at Paramount and Baptist Nursing Homes, having a doughnut and coffee at Dave's Terrace Bakery, eating an early dinner at Amel's or breakfast at Gary's Restaurants, or talking with his Brentwood neighbors.
