
McDOUGALD JAMES ARTHUR, Sr. JIM Age 83, on Sunday, April 27, 2014, God unexpectedly called home his good and faithful servant, James A. McDougald, Sr. Jim was a devoted member of Clinton A.M.E. Zion and had just celebrated Men's Day there when he became ill. Shortly afterwards, he died at Shady Grove Hospital surrounded by his wife of over 61 years, Mary, family and friends. Jim was born in Pittsburgh, PA on July 8, 1930, to the late Arthur and Hattie McDougald. God gifted him with many talents, which included hard work and perseverance. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1990 after 40 years of service. He began as a mailroom clerk and retired as a Postmaster. He is the past Worshipful Master of Jericho 20 and Ermae 101. Jim leaves to celebrate his life, his loving wife, Mary; children, James, Jr. (Raquel) and Linda Ferrell (Wayne); his oldest son, Guy Ricky Kemp (Toni) preceded him in death; his grandchildren, Veeta (Vance) Williams, Brandon, Erin and Adrienne Ferrell, Justin and Jordan McDougald, Tayon Boston, Janaye, Jordan, Jaydah, and Javon Bell; great-grandchildren, Cory Kemp and Vanasia Williams; great - great-granddaughter, Maliyah Kemp; brother-in-law, Martin Redman; sister-in-law, Frances Redman. Jim's three brothers, George, Robert, and Raymond (Linda), are deceased. He was blessed to share his life with his adopted children, Cheryl and Gavin Jackson, Tony and Cookie Jennings, Ricky and Pat America, Emma Smith, Jill Harriday, Tenfeleh family and Bernadette Ogugua. Jim loved his cousins, nieces, nephews, lifelong friends from Garfield and Calistoga Street, Clinton AME Zion family, golf cream-buffs buddies, the Plummer clan and U.S. Postal Service colleagues, and they loved him! Services will be held at Jim's church, Clinton A.M.E. Zion, 223 Elizabeth Avenue, Rockville, MD on Friday, May 2, 2014.
