ZIESCHE RICHARD DUNCAN Age 91, from Glenshaw, PA, passed away peacefully, on May 2, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Estelle Irene Yeager Ziesche; loving father of Carol Ziesche Klauss and Ray Klauss (Wayne, PA, formerly of Sewickley, PA), Bett Ziesche Roberts and Dr. Thom Roberts (Sewickley, PA); proud grandfather, known affectionately as Bups, of Paul Klauss and Mitty Hurley, Randall and Katie Klauss, Jonathan Klauss, Jay and Mechelle Roberts, Jeffrey and Meg Roberts; adoring great-grandfather of Tai Richard Roberts, Lily Roberts, Ryan Roberts, Lauren Roberts, Griffin Roberts; and a soon-to-be-born grandson, Klauss. Predeceased by brother, Charles Ziesche; and sister, Florence Ziesche Smith; loving brother of Lynn Ziesche (Sally) and Anne Keeler (Richard); brother-in-law of Shirley Ziesche and Betty Gerginske (the late Tom Gerginske), Louis Yeager (Donna); uncle of Chris and Ray Hack; two among many cherished nieces and nephews; and great friend of James Seech. Marine Staff Sergeant Richard Ziesche served his country in WWII. Having been a radar technician on islands in the Pacific, including Okinawa, Richard put his expertise in electronics to work with Western Electric and then “Ma Bell,” predecessor of Verizon. He will be remembered as a witty, articulate, fun-loving, kind, and gentle man for whom family always came first. He lived his life with a positive, glass-half-full attitude, and all who loved and knew him benefitted from this great character trait. His interests were many and varied. His lovely tenor voice enhanced the Glenshaw Presbyterian Church choir for decades, and his thespian talents were exhibited in the years he and Estelle performed on stage with The Glenshaw Players. As a spectator, he enjoyed all sports, as a participant, golf was his game. Serving in civic and philanthropic groups, such as Meals-on-Wheels, the Masons and the Shriners, allowed him the opportunity to exercise his generous nature. His devoted daughters will remember him as the dad who could do anything and everything! To honor his life, family members will gather for a private service. Professional Services by D'ALESSANDRO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY LTD., Lawrenceville. Donations in Richard's name may be made to the Glenshaw Presbyterian Church, 300 Glenn Ave., Glenshaw, PA 15116.
