SCHAEFER HERBERT DILGER Peacefully, on Friday, April 25, 2014, age 95, of Grand Rapids, MI. Herb was a graduate of Perry High School (class of 1936) and Wittenberg College (class of 1940). As a commissioned officer in the infantry, he fought at the WWII battles of Guam, Okinawa and Leyte in the Philippines. Herb was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Kimmick); and his brother, Robert C. He is survived by four children, Robert C. (Carolyn), Constance R. Adamo (John), Janet L. Aubil (Russell), and Richard W. (Barbara); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William F. and Richard J. Schaefer, both of Pittsburgh.
