MARTIN RICHARD W. Beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at Chandler Hall Hospice in Newtown, PA, April 23, 2014, following a brief illness, he was 86 years old. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion. He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he graduated in 1955 with a degree in Business Administration. He began his career with Crucible Steel in Marketing Research. Throughout his career and held many positions, including President of the American Marketing Association. He retired from Dresser Industries as Director of Marketing Information Systems in 1984. His hobbies were golf, his tomato garden, the Pirates and the Steelers. He recently moved to Newtown to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Frances. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Martin of Cherry Hill, NJ; his daughter, Evalyn Malakoff (Eric); and grandchildren, Daniel, Lauren and Amy Malakoff, all of Newtown, PA. Friends and family will be received at the T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills, on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, from 10 a.m. until noon. Interment will be private.
