
LAPUSHANSKY FR. DEACON DENNIS J. Age 60, of Forrest Green Dr., Coraopolis, PA, formerly of New Castle, PA, passed away the morning of April 29, 2014, at Heritage Valley Hospital, Sewickley, PA. Fr. Deacon Dennis was born June 12, 1953, in New Castle, PA. He was the son of the late John J. and Olga Lisko Lapushansky. Fr. Deacon Dennis retired as a flight attendant after 25 years of service with U.S. Airways. Fr. Deacon Dennis was ordained on May 5, 2001. He enjoyed going swimming, snow skiing, and numerous other winter sports. Fr. Deacon Dennis also enjoyed going to the theater, doing crafts, and making Ukrainian Easter Eggs. He was a member of the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, Pittsburgh Bach Choir, Ukrainian Culture Trust Choir, and St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian church choir. Survivors include his sister, Patricia A. Colella of Coral Springs, FL; niece, Dr. Candace R. Colella of Coral Springs, FL; nephew, Damian A. (Irene) Colella of Castle Rock, CO; two uncles, Pete Lisko of Annapolis, MD and Andrew Lisko of Columbus, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Anthony F. Colella. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 220 Mansfield Blvd., Carnegie, PA 15106. A Parastas Service will be celebrated at 7 p.m. by Bishop Daniel and Fr. Steve Repa. Additional hours from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday morning prior to the Funeral Service. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, at St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Bishop Daniel and Fr. Steve Repa, pastor of St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church will officiate. Rite of Committal and burial will be in St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, New Castle.
