APICELLA JAMES V. Age 88, of Althom, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at his home. Born March 7, 1926, in Canonsburg, PA, a son to the late Phillip and Mikalena Apicella. Jim taught elective classes for medical students at the University of Pittsburgh for more than 30 years, retiring in 1992. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lorraine (Susnak) Apicella; two children, James V. Apicella, Jr. of Althom and Leann (Dennis) Bee of Tidioute, PA; a brother-in-law, Tony Deprisco. Preceded in death by his siblings, Phillip Apicella, Matthew Apicella, Tony Apicella, and Nancy Deprisco. Friends will be received Saturday, May 10, 2014, at the NELSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 314 North Main St., Youngsville, PA 16371 from 12-2 p.m., at which time a Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home.
