LAYLAND JOHN TED Age 87, of Hampton, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014. Beloved husband of Janice; father of Todd Layland of Clemmons, North Carolina, Leslie (Hernan) Acevedo and the late Brian Layland (October 22, 2013); grandfather of Ryan Acevedo, Nichole and Ashley Layland and the late Danielle Acevedo. Ted was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the Navy during WWII and was an insurance underwriter for Mass Mutual Life Co. A Memorial Service to celebrate the lives of Ted and Brian will be held at the H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1032 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp., 412-364-4444, on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 6 p.m., followed by a gathering at the family home.
