BRETZ KATHLEEN C. (BAMBRICK) Age 96, of Penn Hills, formerly of Pottsville, PA, died Saturday, May 10, 2014. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, George Miller Bretz; she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Conville) Bambrick; sister of the late Vincent (surviving wife, Catherine Rosenberger) Bambrick, and the late Marie (Richard) Brobst; loving mother of Clare (Tom) Sullivan of Hillsborough, NJ, George (Cheryl) Bretz of Hendersonville, TN, Eileen (Ron) Keating of Cromwell, CT, John Bretz of Verona, Bill (Nancy) of Nashville, TN, Kathy (Mark) Dunn of Dunlap, TN, and Meg (Anthony) Balsamico of Penn Hills; loving grandmother of Jennifer Bretz-Sullivan (Brian Stehn), Terry Bretz-Sullivan, Mary Alice Bretz, Nate (Kelly) Keating, Alex Bretz, Andrew Bretz, Jason Dunn, Anthony (Jennifer) Balsamico and Michael Balsamico; also survived by nieces and nephews. Kathleen was the former Director of the Medical Records Department at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh from 1964-1981. She was an active parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Verona as well as a member of the Ladies of Charity and a longtime member of the Rosedale Community Club, and volunteered at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville. Many thanks to the Village at Penwood Nursing Home, Bridges Hospice, Gateway Hospice, and to the Grainger House in Penn Hills for their excellent care, kindness and compassion to Kathleen during her long illness. Kathleen had a love for life and was devoted to her family. She will remain in her family's hearts forever. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the FINDLAY C.
