McCHESNEY WILLIAM J. Age 72, of Bethel Park, beloved husband of Joyce Metzler McChesney, passed on April 26, 2014. Born on April 7, 1942, in Coraopolis, PA, he was the son of the late Mary Agnes King McChesney and George Hamilton McChesney, and brother of the late Martha McCarren. Bill was the loving and involved father of Meghan McChesney Gilroy and Kevin Crawford McChesney. He is survived by two grandchildren, Bodhi and Téa Gilroy. Bill was a graduate of St. Mary of the Mount High School and Duquesne University, and maintained a close circle of friends from Mt. Washington throughout his adult life. He was a successful accountant for almost 50 years. He ran his practice, W. J. McChesney, CPA, in Penn Hills for over 32 years, then recently partnered with William Stunkel, CPA, to become a division of Stunkel Tax & Accounting, PC. For many years, Bill was both an avid golfer at St. Clair Country Club and bowler at Sports Haven Bowling Alley. He studied T'ai Chi with David Clippinger of Still Mountain T'ai Chi and Chi Kung. He enjoyed cooking for friends and family as a certified Chinese Chef taught by Anna Kao. Bill, who received an LVAD (artificial heart) in 2011, was grateful for the expertise and care by Dr. Robert Kormos and the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute doctors and nurses. He and Joyce were preparing to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary in May. Friends are welcome for a celebration of his life on May 31 from 1-4 p.m. at Bower Hill III Apartments in Mt. Lebanon, 1170 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15243 in the Marshal Lenox Room.
