HAMMITT RUTH A. (BARNES) Age 82, of Franklin Park, on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 4, 1930, daughter of the late George W. and Ethel (Pritchard) Barnes. Beloved wife for 62 years of James M. "Rusty Jones" Hammitt; loving mother of James E. (Ruth), Donald M. (Gerri) and the late David W. Hammitt; sister of Gerald (the late Mary Jean) and Milton R. (Barb) Barnes, the late Shirley (the late Russ) Weber and the late William (the late Ruth) Barnes; dear grandmother of Audra (David) Blackson, Jeffrey Hammitt, Cory Schraeder, Colton Martin and the late David M. Hammitt; proud great- grandmother of Hunter, Nicholas, Hailey and Gavin Blackson. Family will welcome friends on Thursday, 2-4, 6-8 p.m. at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 388 Center Avenue in West View, 15229, where services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. An Eastern Star Service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Interment in Mt. Royal Cemetery. Ruth was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Franklin Park Fire Department Women's Auxiliary.
