WHALEY GEORGE L. Age 97, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Beloved husband for 65 years of the late Marcella S. Whaley; devoted father of Judith Ann (Paul) Bartek of Glenshaw, PA and Marcia Jean (Walter) Jones of Bethel Park; brother of the late Marian Ravenstahl and Catherine Whaley; loving grandfather of Virginia, Marty, Shelley, Holly, Tommy, Matthew, and Kim; also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. George enjoyed a 50 year career with Joseph Horne's where he started as a stock boy and worked his way up to furniture buyer, then became Divisional Merchandise Manager and eventually was the founder of Marforth Showrooms. He was a 53 year member of Corinthian Lodge #573 F & AM; a long time choir member and Elder at Southminister Presbyterian Church. Friends will be welcomed at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon, Friday from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. Services will be held in the Main Sanctuary of Southminster, Saturday morning at 11 o'clock.
