PETRIGAC JOHN G., JR. Age 81, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the UPMC Passavant Hospital. He was born in Clarksburg, WV on November 12, 1936, a son of the late John G. and Veronica Bohenski Petrigac, Sr. Mr. Petrigac is survived by three sons, John G. "Sonny" Petrigac and wife, Judy of Pittsburgh, Patrick Petrigac and partner, Dan Vitalie of Pittsburgh, and Stan Petrigac and wife, Tami Merill of Indiana, PA; seven grandchildren, Thea Petrigac, Jonathan Petrigac, Stefan Petrigac, Taylor Pavetti, Cassidy Petrigac, Jack Vitalie and Julia Vitalie; two brothers, Daniel "Danny" Petrigac and wife, Nancy of Clarksburg, and Francis Petrigac and wife, Janice of Clarksburg; one sister, Veronica Carter and husband, Patrick of Boston, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Lou Brunetti, and Eleanor Petrigac, and two nephews, Joe and Sam Brunetti. John was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and a postman for the United States Postal Service. John was an avid sports enthusiast. He was very passionate about football at all levels, but especially enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play the game. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Pittsburgh. TISON RAYMOND R. Of West Mifflin, PA passed away peacefully on September 8, 2018 after a long and hard fought battle with multiple blood disorders and pancreatic cancer. Ray was born on April 3, 1952 in McKeesport, PA to Frank and Virginia Uher Tison.  Ray was a 1970 graduate of South Allegheny High School and a 1974 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He was employed for 25 years with Mellon Bank. Ray was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Janet. He was the proud father of Stephanie Tison of Greensboro, NC, Kelly Tison (Michael Cibrone) of Meadville, PA and Keith (Erin) Tison of Wheeling, WV, and Michael Bartek of Duquesne, PA. Ray is survived by his sister-in-law, Joyce (Robert) Comstock of Harrison City, PA; and his nephews, David (Carise) Comstock and family of Macungie, PA, Greg (Colleen) Comstock and family of Indianapolis, IN and Michael (Gina) Comstock and family of Philadelphia, PA.  Ray is also survived by his loving godchild, Karen (William, Billy, and Katie) Murphy, of Havre De Grace, MD; and by many cousins and their families. Ray loved his rescue dogs and is survived by Jasmine, Roxie and Daisy. He is also survived by his special grand dog Summer and grand cats, Ser Pounce, Chunk, Biggie, Seeps, Smokey and Haeby. Viewing will take place Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., and Wednesday, September 12, 2018 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., at JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME. PRIBANIC JONATHON "JAMIE" JAMES Feb. 18, 1958 - Sept. 6, 2018. Age 60, residing in Sandusky, OH, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, September 6, 2018 at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Born February 18, 1958 in McKeesport, PA to John Edward and Marlene (Hunter) Pribanic, Jamie graduated from McKeesport High School in 1976 and attended Toledo and Bowling Green State University for engineering. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, an avid reader and artist, and documentary film producer. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited and could be found every fall duck hunting on the Sandusky Bay or chasing fish on Martha's Vineyard. Jamie was the head chef and owner of Red Gables Mesquite Grill and Jack's Deli for over 20 years. Chef Jamie was one of the first to build a fine-dining restaurant in Sandusky with a modern menu of original recipes considered a "best kept secret" that attracted customers from all across the region. He was well known for perusing the restaurant sharing stories of his many adventures always making his guests feel as if they were part of the family. His motto was, "It is always a pleasure to entertain your pallet, if you find a better steak anywhere I'll buy it for you!" He never spent one red cent. Known to walk his own path, his clandestine nature kept many from knowing that he spent after hours on his own inventions. However, despite all of his pursuits, family was his first love and the greatest joy in this life. Jamie is survived by his mother, Marlene; three daughters, Athena Pribanic of Huron, Jessica (Cody) Pribanic of NV and Kennedy Pribanic of Sandusky; son, Joshua Boaz (Tara) Pribanic of Sandusky; grandchildren, Triston, Jaida, Aedon and Ares; sister, Meredith; brothers, Victor (Janet), Michael (Virginia), David (Peggy), Jeffrey (Milissa), Chris, Adam (Jennifer), Sean (Christine) Daniel (Megan), and Ernest (Leslie) Pribanic; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; in addition to his father, Jonathon, Jamie was preceded in death by his nephew, Eli Pribanic. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at GROFF FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORY, 1607 E. Beloved husband of Anna (Miller) Polenavitch; father of Andrew Polenavitch II (Sherie), Brian Polenavitch, and the late Andrea Crossey (surviving husband, Larry); grandfather of Nicole, Zachary and Lauren Crossey; brother-in-law of Sr. Dorothy Miller, Bernard Miller, Janet Toney, James Miller (Sheila) and Lorraine Grabel (Walt); he was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Elizabeth (Bacha) Polenavitch; and his brothers, Thomas and Michael Polenavitch. McCONNELL ALAN F. Age 85, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at UPMC East Monroeville. He was born November 30, 1932, in Gary, Indiana, son of the late Charles B. and Ruth (Todd) McConnell. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was a member of the Men's Glee Club and sang with the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. He was an Asst. Manager at Mellon Bank, then Branch Manager and Asst. Vice President with Union National Bank. Restless in retirement, Mr. McConnell, worked as a technician for Ferrellgas until age 78. His passions included classical and folk music, the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, the River City Brass Band, beer, football, puppies and Myrtle Beach, SC. He was of the Presbyterian faith and attended several congregations during his lifetime, including the First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg, and Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church. Mr. McConnell is survived by his wife of 21 years, Lois A. McConnell; sister Janice McConnell of West Newton, PA; sister-in-law Roberta McConnell of Ligonier, PA; children, Laurie L. Smith (Charles) of Penn Run, PA, Sharon A. Bollenbacher of Murrysville, PA and Robert T. McConnell (Claudia) of Biddeford, Maine; grandchildren, Benjamin Martz (Kelly) of Mercer Island, WA, Patrick Martz of Baltimore, MD, John Bollenbacher, Jeffrey Bollenbacher and Laura Bollenbacher, all of Murrysville, PA; and greatgranddaughter, Berrit Martz, as well as cherished stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Mayhak; brother, Charles B. "Ted" McConnell Jr.; and son-in-law John G. CONROY CAPTAIN JOHN PATRICK, USN (Ret.) Age 82, of Collier Township, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018, after a noble fight with a lengthy illness, being held by family. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Mary King Conroy and Patrick Joseph Conroy, from Ireland. Married 47 years to his beloved wife, Barbara Thomas Conroy. Proud father of Mary Adams (Jay), and Laura Rust (Patrick). Daideo of Ellen Adams, Cullen and Harper Rust, all of Pittsburgh. Also survived by many cousins in Ireland and the USA. John was a graduate of Duquesne University, where he was a member of the Gamma Phi Fraternity and DUVA. He received a Master of Arts from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. John has always worked in the financial field, most recently at Wells Fargo Advisors in Pittsburgh. He taught investments for many years at Mt. Lebanon High School's Adult Education Program, as well as those of LaRoche College and Central Catholic High School. His greatest professional love was his career in the US Naval Reserve, spanning three decades, retiring with the rank of Captain. Captain Conroy's military decorations include the National Defense Medal (three awards), Presidential Unit Commendation (three awards), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed forces Reserve Medal (three awards), Pistol Sharpshooter Medal, and Naval recruiting service ribbon. John enjoyed flying as a private pilot, skiing, golfing, cards, telling old stale jokes, reading, and most of all traveling. Last minute Space-A flights were always an entertaining challenge. He and Barbara saw many unusual places in the world. But John's biggest hobby was working; he never stopped. He always worked with dedication and integrity, beginning as a paper boy at age seven, even up until his retirement from finance, when he often talked with clients until late in the evening. John was the last President of the University Club of Pittsburgh, having started there as a pin boy at the age of 15. He also served as a Past President of The Bond Club of Pittsburgh, treasurer of the Ireland Institute of Pittsburgh, member of Chartiers Country Club, the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, Teutonia Maennerchor, and belonged to many professional and military organizations as an active and advising member. Born on June 6, 1926 in Senzo, Italy, Victor was a son to the late Luigi and Katina Grecco Greco. A retired craneman for U.S. Steel, Mr. Greco was a memebr of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in Monessen and was an acolyte in church for many years. Mr. Greco was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, Victor was preceded in death by six brothers, Patsy, Carmen, Joseph, Dominic, Louis, and Ralph Greco; and three sisters; Josephine Kozar, Mary Tabish, and Rose Amoroso; survivors inlcude his wife, Esther (Costas) Greco; three daughters, Victoria (Maurice) Bedel of Allison Park, Katherine (Kyrk) Pyros of Thornburg, and Elizabeth (Ken) Callaway of Belle Vernon; six grandchildren, Demetri, Gregory, Athena, Kenny Paul, Megan, and Sydney.
