DUFFETT CHARLES W. DUFFETT, Jr. CHUCK Of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014, in Asheville, North Carolina. He was 90 years old. A native and lifelong resident of Pittsburgh, Charles is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jane Gavert Duffett; and four children, Pam and son-in-law, Birch Snyder, Bill and daughter-in-law, Sally, Sue and son-in-law, Rick Schulz, and Joan and son- in-law, Tom Streiff. He had 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Charles earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Carnegie Institute of Technology (CMU) after serving as a radio technician in the US Navy during WWII. He began his career at Electric Controller and Manufacturing Company and held positions with Square D, Follansbee, and Power Control Group. Charles began his own manufacturers' representative organization, the C.W. Duffett Company in 1972. He sold the company in 1998, but remained a consultant to them until his death. Active in the community, Charles was a member of the Syria Mosque of Pittsburgh, served as the Chairman for the Republican Party of Shaler Township and served in various positions at Elfinwild Presbyterian Church. He was an avid golfer, tennis player, loved to dance and play Bridge. Friends will be received on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. Born September 5, 1932, in Marysville, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Esther Grauer of Marysville, Kansas. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Elmer Marshall Hanna; a daughter, Julie Karner and husband, Todd, and their three children, Jason, Jenny and Grant of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Melissa Compton, and her late son, Mark's children, John and Payton Hanna of Frederick, Maryland. Her son, Mark Andrew Hanna, preceded her in death in 1999. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1954 and worked in radio and television before having a family. She was a fabulous mother and grandmother and homemaker. She loved genealogy, reading and traveling with her family. Survived by his loving daughter, Margaret (Robert) Bourg; and beloved grandchildren, Garrett and Charlotte. John was a member of the greatest generation, serving as a flight instructor stateside and later as a pilot with the 484th bomb group in Italy. Before and after the war, John attended the University of Florida, where he was a member of the Chi Phi fraternity and received a B.S. in horticulture. He retired from Martin Marietta in 1984. John was a member of the Orange County Old Timers Club, The University of Florida Alumni Association, and a volunteer with the Orange County Historical Society in Orlando.
