Born August 13, 1920 in Pittsburgh to Stella (Suchodupska) and Lawrence Konefal; husband of the late Helen (Nowinski) Konefal; brother of Charles Konefal and Adele Brede of Texas, and the late Stanley and Raymond Konefal; loving father of Thomas Konefal of Vancouver, B.C., Sandra Blaser, Veronica Scott of Baton Rouge, LA, Cynthia Konefal and Daniel Konefal; grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 10+ great-grandchildren. Ted attended St. Cyprian School on North Side, Sto Rox and Allegheny High Schools. A WWII veteran, Ted held a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and a Master's of Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh. He retired as an administrator of Allegheny County Health Department. He was an active member in the community including the church choir at both St. Cyprian and Our Lady Queen of Peace Churches. He sang in the local Karuzela Polish Choir which performed in Rome for Pope John Paul II. He was an active participant in the Knights of Columbus 285 Allegheny Council, Elks Lodge 339, American Legion Post 81, St. Mary's Lyceum and scout master for the Boy Scouts of America. Born and raised in Aliquippa, PA, Claudia called Pittsburgh her home for more than 60 years. Along with her love of all things Pittsburgh, she was an avid reader and lover of music and the performing arts. Family and friends will remember her for her generosity, intelligence, and quick wit.
