Born on September 23, 1922, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Anna (Hammond) Bode; his wife, Helen Baxter Bode; his second wife, Lori Hosford Turner Bode; and his sister, Marjorie Bode Dunsford; and is survived by five children, Joanne Bode Perry of Washington, D.C., Ann Bode Biddison (Mark) of Cape Coral, FL, Frederick W. MAYER FELIX R. Age 81, of McKeesport, died May 14, 2015, at UPMC McKeesport. Born July 20, 1933, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Albert and Rose Mary (Rice) Mayer and the husband of the late Anna E. Mayer. Felix worked for Continental Can Company in West Mifflin, PA from 1951-1953, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army under the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he returned to work for Continental Can as a Coil Shearman until he retired after 25 years of service. Even after his retirement, he went on to work as a Security Guard at CCAC, and was a member of the McKeesport Heritage Association and the 82nd Airborne Club. He was forever an avid Steelers fan and had a love of photography, computers and genealogy. Felix is survived by his children, Linda (Greg) Ferencz of Winston-Salem, NC, Janet (Richard) Jordan of Middleburg, FL, Felix Mayer, Jr. of Riverside, CA, Rosemary Mayer of McKeesport, PA, Sandra Sovick of McKeesport, PA and Bernadine Anchak of McKeesport, PA. He is survived by 14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Rachel, Julie, John, Annamarie, Bill, Matthew, Kevin, Mark, Joshua, Justin, Jacob, Johnna, Jordan; nine great- grandchildren; siblings, Albert Mayer of McKeesport, PA and Bernard (Marcia) Mayer of North Huntingdon, PA. Lee Miller; loving mother of three daughters, all living in Pennsylvania, Marilee Miller Ward (Bob) of Chester Springs, Lindsay Miller Evans (Doug) of Everett, and Carol Miller-Mease (Steve) of Chester Springs; she was the very proud grandmother of six grandchildren, Whitney Jaeger, Todd Cordray, Brandon Evans, Morgan Evans, Andy Cordray, and Travis Mease; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren; she was the sister of Clarence Chick Miller; sister-in-law of Harvey Miller and Andrew Miller; as well as having many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Marge attended Peabody High School and Grove City College. She graduated with a BS from Pitt and went on to get her Masters in Library Science from Pitt as well, and was an adored librarian at Fairview Elementary in the Fox Chapel School District for 19 years! She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, a charter member of the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church where she was an Elder and taught Sunday School, active in the Girl Scouts, the Countryside Garden Club and a charter member of Fox Chapel AAUW. She and her husband, Lee, were world travelers and journeyed to Tahiti, Bora Bora, Alaska, Ireland and many other exciting places. They were also avid sailors and owned a sailboat on which they lived every summer weekend, cruising Lake Erie. No visitation. AHL CHARLES EMMERLING, Jr. Age 97, departed peacefully May 8, 2015, of natural causes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Sloan Ahl, in 2011. He is survived by his three children, Anne Ahl Werth of Pittsburgh, David Sloan Ahl of Rye, NY, and Barbara Ahl Watkins of Boyne City, MI; four grandchildren; and one great- granddaughter. Chuck Ahl was born on February 16, 1918, and grew up in the Highland Park section of Pittsburgh. He attended Fulton Elementary School and graduated from Peabody High School with a Post Graduate year at the University School. In 1940, he received an engineering degree from Lehigh University. At Lehigh, he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. Chuck served in the United States Navy in the Western Pacific in WWII. He was the Navigator on the USS Lucidor (AF-45), a cargo ship which made it safely through "Halsey's Typhoon," which sank three U.S. destroyers. Chuck's business career was in refractory sales to the steel industry. After training as a metallurgist in the open hearth furnaces at the Homestead Works of USS in Pittsburgh, he was national sales manager for the Globe Brick Company, a refractory company based in Newell, WV, which was acquired by Combustion Engineering. Chuck was active in his church and community. He served on the board of the Allegheny Cemetery and the Pittsburgh Field Club. He was President of the School Board of the Fox Chapel Area School District and the Lehigh Club of Pittsburgh. He was as an usher and on the Session at the Third Presbyterian Church.
