GRIFFITH HARRY R. Age 90, of Rostraver Township, died Friday, October 30, 2015. Born in Kingwood, WV on May 24, 1925, he was the son of the late Vivan S. and Elizabeth (Knatz) Griffith. Harry was retired from General Motors and was a member of Fells United Methodist Church and the VFW. He served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie G. (Robert) Bagay of Mount Lebanon; granddaughter, Camellia Bagay; and sisters, Vivian Hirshberg of Bradenton, FL, Audrey Jacobs of Forward Twp., and Barbara Wilderman of Winter Park, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma R. Griffith. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the JAMES C. TAZZA JEANNETTE RUTH Jeannette was taken up to Heaven in the hands of our Lord to be with her loving husband of 71 years, Harry Tazza and her cherished daughter, Judy Handzo. She leaves behind fond and lasting memories to her family members, Sharon and Richard Little of Atlanta, GA, Tom and Kay Tazza of Richmond, VA, Jim Tazza and Janice Trone of Montgomery Village, MD, Dick Handzo of Davisburg , MI, and many nieces and nephews around Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; and ten great- grandchildren. Jeannette was a career homemaker who enjoyed Quilting, Bowling, Crafting, and Baking, but most of all she embraced and enjoyed taking care of her family. This life of almost 93 years took her through the many cities of Pittsburgh, PA, Chicago, IL, Detroit, MI, Hampton, VA, and Albany, NY setting up a new house and making a new Home for her family in every town, always making sure the family had everything needed before she thought of herself. She made many, many friends along the way of her travels who were privileged to have experienced her welcoming smile, her spirit lifting words of encouragement, her warm laugh, and the kindness of her generous heart. WILLIAMS JANE L. “Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I'll miss you until we meet again.” It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Jane L. Williams. On November 1, 2015, Jane gracefully took her place in the kingdom of heaven. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed. The youngest of 13, Jane was born on August 26, 1942, to the late Joseph and Margaret Geiser in Oakmont, PA. Jane and her husband of 47 years made their home in the South Hills of Pittsburgh where they raised nine children and watched their 13 beautiful grandchildren and five great- grandchildren grow. WISNIEWSKI JAMES CASIMIR “WIZ” Peacefully, after a brief illness, on Sunday, November 1, 2015, age 67, of Sq. Hill, formerly of Lawrenceville. Beloved son of the late Casimir, DDS, and Minerva Wisniewski; brother of Alma Wisniewski, and the late Richard Wisniewski; longtime friend and companion of Elaine Rudov. James attended Columbia College, New York City, where he majored in English and sociology, served as Editor-without-Diddleywork and Sole Pole, Jester humor magazine: literary editor, COLUMBIAN yearbook; awarded the James Guttman Prize in the Humanities, elected to the Senior Society of 1848. At 19, he became the youngest copywriter in the business at a major consumer ad agency in New York. After award-winning work at several shops as copywriter, copy chief, and creative director, he retired from advertising at age 43, but did not gloat about it. MASUCCI JOHN J. “BUTCH” John passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at the age of 77. John was the beloved son of the late Mary (Burbella) and Alexander Masucci; husband of Michele Stehle Masucci; proud father of Judy Masucci of New Jersey, Michael Masucci, Darlene Masucci Shaffer (John) and Michelle Masucci Bates (Joe), all of Pittsburgh; loving stepfather of John “Jay” Checkeye (Nicole); dear brother of the late Joseph R. Masucci; grandfather of Michael John Masucci (Lisa), Matthew, David, Christine and Lauren Shaffer, Ryan Masucci and Brandon Bates; great- grandfather of Isabella and Rocco Alexander Masucci; special uncle to many nieces and nephews; and cherished friend to many. John was a member of St. Mary of the Mount Church and was a regular in the last pew at the 7:30 AM mass. John was well-known for his mechanical mind and was instrumental in the design, building, maintenance, and upgrades of the local Mr. Magic Car-Wash chain. He was a veteran who proudly served in the Navy. John loved to visit and relax at Geneva-On-The-Lake, Ohio. He was an avid Steelers fan. John had a special way with animals and was able to train his cat to act like a dog and perform tricks. John was a very gentle and kind man who will be remembered fondly by all who knew him and will be sorely missed by friends and family. DRISH RONALD Ronald, 73, of New Kensington, passed quietly with his loving wife by his side on Saturday evening, October 31, 2015, at Platinum Ridge Center for Rehabilitation & Healing, Brackenridge. Born June 14, 1942, in Braddock, PA to the late Herbert A. and Erma Soles Drish; beloved husband of Carol (Allhouse) Drish of 41 years; father of Deborah Drish; and stepfather of Gregory M. Guth of Brookville; brother of LaVonne (Joseph) Buttyan of Wilkins Twp., Lois (Samuel) Jones Monroeville, James Drish Washington, PA; grandfather of Adara, Jessie, and Dakota. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lorraine Brumbaugh; and brothers, Floyd Drish and his twin brother Donald Drish. Ron served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, was a State Trooper for over 31 years in the Pittsburgh area, and served as a Westmorleand County Sheriff in Greensburg from 1999 to 2009. Ron took great pride in his yard at his home, and enjoyed a good round of golf when he could. DAVIS MARLENE SURAN Age 79, beloved wife of Richard Grosvenor Davis for 52 years, died peacefully on November 1, 2015. She suffered from progressive supranuclear palsy, an incurable auto-immune disease, for the past five years. She was the daughter of Francis Edward Suran and Estella Halina Suran who preceded her in death. A 1954 graduate of Beaver Falls High School and a 1958 graduate of Chatham University where she majored in education and fine arts. Marlene began her teaching career at Sunnyside Elementary School in Stanton Heights. In 1968, she and her husband moved to Columbia, Maryland where she taught at Scaggsville Elementary School. After moving to Colorado, Marlene became a reading specialist in the Cherry Creek School District where she had a dramatic effect in educating thousands of students. She continued to receive notes and cards from them until she was well into her 70s. She pursued her love of art by taking further classes in watercolor, oil and other media. Her canvases are treasured by her family. She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Allison Park; her sibling, Cordelia Suran Jacobs of Sewickley; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Marlene's family thanks the many staff members of Concordia at Rebecca Residence in Allison Park for the exceptional care they provided during the last years of her life when she was a resident there. DANIELS CATHERINE Age 90, formerly of Midland, on Saturday, October 31, 2015, in Sunrise Senior Living of Upper St. Clair. Born May 9, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose DiFrancis Daniels. Catherine retired after 30 years of service from the accounts payable department of Crucible Steel, Colt Industries, Midland and was a faithful member of St. Blaise Parish, Midland. She is most remembered by her loved ones and friends as a voracious reader with an extraordinary sense of humor who was always available for family when needed. Faith and family were her greatest passions. Besides her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Leli and Clara Pasquale; three brothers, Carmen "Mimy", Vincent "Jimmy", and Neil Daniels; a niece, Bernadette Tipton; and a great-nephew, Michael Eisenbeis. Surviving her are serval nieces and nephews, Ginger Eisenbeis, Joe Pasquale, Marie Brauch, Gereil Hammerlee, Joseph Daniels, John Leli, and James Leli; along with numerous great-nieces and nephews. Also surviving Catherine is a sister-in-law, Genevieve Daniels, Industry.
