SHANNON PATRICIA A. Age 61, of South Park, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born November 12, 1954, in McKeesport, PA. She was the daughter of the late George and Betty (Morgan) Radinovic. Patricia is retired from Travelers Insurance where she worked as an administrative assistant. She loved camping in Somerset, PA, shopping at flea markets and volunteering with the South Baldwin Volunteer Fire Company. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Sedona, Arizona, where she had wished to retire. Patricia is survived by her husband of 25 years, Glenn R. Shannon; a brother, Michael Radinovic and his wife, Denise; daughter, Nicole Acker; and granddaughter, Abby Acker. FITTING GEORGE M., Jr., M. D. Of Mt. Lebanon, on Friday, March 4, 2016. Born May 26, 1933, in Passaic, NJ, George attended the Pennsylvania State University on a Naval ROTC scholarship graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry in 1955. While at Penn State, he met and married his college sweetheart, Katherine O'Toole on graduation day. George served as a Naval Gunfire Liaison Officer and was honorably discharged from the Naval Reserve with the rank of Lieutenant in 1967. After working as a chemist for Union Carbide, George enrolled in medical school at the University of Pittsburgh where he earned his M.D. in 1964. He then completed his internship and residency in anesthesiology at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh. In 1968, he was awarded a research fellowship with the world-renowned cancer facility, MD Anderson, in Houston, TX. Upon returning to Pittsburgh, George continued his practice as a board certified anesthesiologist with Pittsburgh Anesthesia Associates, Ltd. He was an avid conservationist, historian and enjoyed world travel. Beloved husband for 60 years of Katherine of Mt. Lebanon; devoted father of Karen McMullen and husband Douglas of Houston, TX and Margaret Nadkarni, her husband, Guru of Millburn, NJ; proud grandfather of Annie and Dev Nadkarni; also survived by many cousins and friends in New Jersey, Florida and Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Spehar and Ella Stephenso; sister, Ellen Gaber (Steve); and husbands, Robert Beck (1962) and Ellis Kunig (2004). Lil was the mother of Robert Beck (the late Mary Grace), Upper St. Clair, PA, the late Carol Kunig Markowski (Edward), Virginia Beach, VA, Mimi Beck (David Lampert), Toronto, ON, Alan Kunig (Susan), Atlanta, GA and Laura Kunig (Timothy King), Findlay Twp., PA; grandmother of nine; and great- grandmother of seven. Lil was a member of Sarah Heinz House when she was a teenager. She worked at Westinghouse in the Nuclear Projects division and was Secretary for the Prime Timers at the Monroeville Senior Citizens Center. Lil enjoyed bowling and golfing with the Westinghouse leagues, traveling to Cape May and line dancing at the Senior Center. She was an active volunteer at Country Meadows. As a former season ticket holder, she was a passionate fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lil will be missed by her beloved feline companion, Murray.
