CODER GEORGE W., SR. Age 86, of Ellport, PA and Arcadia, FL, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family. George was born on August 17, 1927 in Williamsport, PA to the late George S. and Grace Chambers Coder. A 1946 graduate of DuBois Area High School, he was an all-star basketball player. George served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. A two-time Purple Heart recipient, he served as a radio operator during World War II and as an infantry machine gunner during the Korean War. George was a district manager for the Sherwin Williams Company, from which he retired in 1992. George is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Nadine Coder, whom he married on October 10, 1948; a daughter and son-in-law, Christine Lynn and John Bottorff of Pittsburgh, PA; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Laurel Coder of Medina, OH; a son, George Coder, Jr. of Ellwood City; and a daughter and son-in-law, Cassandra and Paul Pishioneri of Ellwood City; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Robert Coder. Friends will be received on Sunday, August 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, August 26 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 10:00 a.m. at the JOSEPH A. TOMON, JR.
