FRANCIS THOMAS P. Age 65, of Dormont, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was born on September 4, 1948, to the late George and Virginia Lutz Francis. Mr. Francis served his country in the United States Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Tom was an avid Steelers fan as well as season ticket holder but most of all he was a proud father and grandfather. Survivors include daughters, Kimberly (Frank) Dreslinski of Tarentum, Jacqueline (Peter) Szymanski of Indiana Twp., Erin Francis of Dormont; brothers, George Francis of Cranberry, David (Mary) Francis of Charlotte, NC, Kenny (Mary) Francis of Morningside; sisters, Diane (Dean) Trombetta of Greenfield, Kathy Murphy of North Hills; grandchildren, Emily Dreslinski, Julia, Emma and Anna Szymanski. AUSTIN MARY L. Age 85, of Cooksburg, PA, passed away early the morning of Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Clarion Hospital. Formerly of Gibsonia, PA, Mary was born March 24, 1929, in Dormont, PA, the daughter of John Thomas and Anne (O'Donnell) Garvey. She was united in marriage on April 25, 1953, to Edwin R. Austin, who preceded her in death September 10, 1989. While living in Gibsonia, Mary worked at St. Barnabas Nursing Home and Richland High School Cafeteria. After moving to Marienville in 1990, she worked for the U.S. Forest Service, served as Secretary/Treasurer for Barnett Township in Forest County for 18 years and worked at Kwikfill in Marienville for several years. Surviving are a daughter, Pamela J. Eck and her husband, Adam, of Cooksburg; a granddaughter, Ashley E. Eck of Cooksburg; and a grandson, Edwin S. Eck and his fiancée, Emillie Myers, of Butler. Additional survivors include two great grandchildren, Camillie and Edwin S. Eck, Jr. of Butler, and a third great-grandchild soon to be born; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas E. Garvey, Michael Garvey, and William Garvey. As per Mary's request, there will be no public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann's Church in Marienville on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 10 a.m. with Father Christopher Barnes, Pastor, as celebrant. DUSENBERRY BERNARD DUSEY D. On Monday, August 4, 2014, Bernard D. Dusenberry, age 92, resident of Sherwood Oaks, Cranberry, formerly of McCandless. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor E. Dusenberry; father of Denee (Todd) Stevenson, of Big Beaver, Debra D. (late Roland) Koll, of Bailey, CO, Daryl (Jeff) Rahenkamp, of McCandless, and Diane (Mark) Welling, of Kennewick, WA; grandfather of Ann, Ellen, Aaron, Evan, and Elainna; great- grandfather of William. Services private. Mr. Dusenberry was a 1943 graduate of Allegheny College and a member Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. During WWII, while stationed in India, he served in the USAAF as a 1st Lieutenant Burma Hump Pilot, crossing over the Himalayas to drop supplies in China and South Asia. He was awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses and the China War Memorial Badge with five battle stars. He continued flying with the Condor Flying Club, Zelienople, until he was 80 years old. Mr. Dusenberry was a CPA and partner at Main, Hurdman & Cranston, now KPMG. A former trustee and auditor at Northmont U.P. Church, he was also a member of the Pittsburgh Rotary Club, Wildwood Country Club, and the Duquesne Club. He was an avid reader and world traveler.
