ZORA PAUL R. Age 61, formerly of Coraopolis, passed away peacefully on Nov. 13, 2014, at his home in Stuart, FL. His passing leaves a deep void in the lives of loved ones and friends. Paul was the loving son of Jo Ann Fingerhut of Moon Township; brother to David Zora (Nancy) of Whitehall, Joyce Hoffman (Jake) of Moon Township, and Mark Zora (Joe Schirra) of Pittsburgh; uncle to Seth Zora (Mandie) of Imperial, Jacob Hoffman of Jacksonville, FL and Jessica Bichler (Jim) of Moon Township; great-uncle to Stephen and Emily Seretti of Hopewell. He was preceded in death by his loving stepfather, Donald L. Fingerhut; father, Edwin C. Zora; and niece, Carie Seretti. Paul was the last student to graduate from Coraopolis High School (Class of 1971). Known as "Melfamie" to many, he was a loyal and caring friend. After graduation, he chose to follow the example set by his stepfather and he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps rising to the rank of Corporal. He was ready, willing and able to give up his life in service to his country. CPL. Paul R. Zora was a proud Marine Corps veteran until the day he died. Once a Marine, Always a Marine - Semper Fi! Returning to civilian life, Paul continued his education. In January of 1977, he graduated from Penn Tech Institute with an Assoc. Degree in Specialized Technology. His career took off in high gear. He moved South and while living in Myrtle Beach he made a bold decision to start his own company, Upgrade Solutions, Inc. In addition to being a Ham radio operator K3PZ, Paul trained in the Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do, and began involvement in animal rescue programs. He adopted several dogs to provide them with a safe, happy home. On December 12, 2014, following a private memorial service with Military honors, Paul was laid to rest in the Cemetery of the Alleghenies. We take comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain and is at eternal peace, wrapped in the loving arms of Our Lord. "K3PZ signing off". STRIPP THOMAS WILLIAM Age 94, passed away Dec. 11, 2014, at Hospice House of Citrus County. He was born March 25, 1920, in Collier Township, he was one of 12 children born to the late Andrew V. and Laura Belle (White) Stripp. He attended Rennerdale schools while growing up on the family farm, an area that is now Settlers Cabin Park. He was a union carpenter by trade and a WW II veteran, serving for over three years in the Philippines. He lived and worked in the Carnegie area until moving to Florida in 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Margaret (Peggy Muenz), who passed May 10, 2014; and infant son, Joseph; also preceded by brothers, James, Francis, Joseph, Raymond, John, Elmer, and Robert Stripp; sisters, Laura Johnson, Florence Pogoshnick and Jenny Barlow. He is survived by sons, John T. (Sally) Stripp and William A. (Sandy) Stripp; grandchildren, Kelly (Richard) Dobbins, Dan (Erica) Stripp, Matthew Stripp and David Stripp; great- grandchildren, Drew Hudson, Kayden Hudson, Sam Dobbins, Dean Dobbins and Ava Stripp. He is also survived by brother, Bernard (Shirley) Stripp; two sisters-in-law, Alma Stripp and Eleanor (Muenz) McGrogan; also survived by many close nieces, nephews and friends. Cathy is survived by her daughter, Jamie Contis; sister, Toula Peterson; and nephews, John (Mary) Peterson and Father Michael (Kandelia Texas). She was predeceased by her loving husband, Thomas G. Contis; brother, Louis (Margo) Xidis; nephew, Billy Peterson; and her newfound best friend, lapdog Zoe. Cathy was a kind and gentle person who gave freely to others and to her church. She not only cooked for the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Food Festival for over 50 years but she was the Godmother to the church when it was consecrated in 1962. She loved to bake, sew, knit, embroider, and make elaborate decorations; anything creative to keep her hands busy. In keeping with her wishes, her service will be private in Arlington National Cemetery where her beloved husband lays in rest. She was a good friend to those around her and in lieu of donations would appreciate anyone performing an act of kindness in her memory, whatever you chose that to be.
