MOLINARO ROSS R., Jr. Age 86, of Oakmont, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015, at his residence, with Nancy by his side. Beloved son of the late Ross R. and Angelina (DeGrazia) Molinaro, Sr.; loving husband for 15 years of Nancy (Bruce) Molinaro and the late Dolores “Dolly” Molinaro; dear father of Ross (Susan) Molinaro III, Lyn (Mark) Null, Lee (James) Murphy, and Brian (Kathleen) Molinaro; brother of Rosa Boockfor, Mary Cipriano, and the late John Molinaro and Rita Hufnagle; grandfather of 11; and also survived by his devoted four-legged friend, Hannah. He was loved and will be missed by his work family at Ross Maintenance, which he started in 1954. Ross was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he played football. He was a member of St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, an avid golfer, hunter, and skier, who traveled all over the world and was very rewarded in a rich and full life. Being a successful man, Ross remained humble and always remembered his simple beginning. DUFF ANDREW Age 91, of Pittsburgh, passed from this Earth to be with the Lord on Monday, January 12, 2015. He was a loving husband, caring father of two sons, grandfather of six, and great-grandfather of one. Andy was born on July 26, 1923, to Margaret (Main) Duff and Thomas Gray Duff. He was their youngest child of three boys. After leaving the US Navy, Andy worked several jobs but found his occupational calling as an industrial printer, and eventually started his own business. Andy married Eleanor Ann Murison of Pittsburgh on Sept. 19, 1953. After marriage, they continued to live in Pittsburgh, then Florida, but in 1959 settled in Penn Hills. Andy is survived by his wife, Eleanor; and two children, Andrew W. and his wife, Margaret Wallace, Robert J. and his wife, Kristen Wittmaier. His grandchildren are Jason, Brian, Kevin, Katie, Joshua, and Alex; and the great-granddaughter, Harper. Andy liked reading, western films, coffee, building miniature wooden structures (e.g. doll houses), drawing, but most of all he loved to “talk about the Lord”. Andy was supportive and active at Murrysville Bible Chapel where he served as church elder for more than 35 years. Also, he was on the board of directors for Life's Key Ministry for many years. Late in his life, he began a ministry using his skills with woodworking to create a replica of the Jewish Tabernacle which was lent to local churches for teaching purposes. Last but not least, he started a daily morning coffee shop ministry in Penn Hills. He was a friend to many and missed by all! A reception will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the CHARLES TRENZ FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11110 Frankstown Road in Penn Hills. L. was born April 2 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late Jerome and Laura Sudomirski Brickett. He was a retired engineering and construction general manager and member of the Saint Jude Catholic Church. KRAUS CHARLES A. Age 91, of Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Carnegie, on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Charles was a graduate of St. Vincent College, a World War II veteran, and earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Over his career, he held senior-level positions in marketing and communications at Westinghouse, McGraw- Edison, and Gulf Oil. He celebrated 53 years of marriage with the late Audrey Byron Kraus and spent nearly as long cheering on the Steelers from his seats on the 49th yard line. His wry sense of humor was legendary. He was the loving father of Janet (Bruce Palmer) Kraus and the late David C. Kraus; father-in-law to Kathleen M. Kraus; brother of the late Monsignor Donald W. Kraus; grandfather of Clare Kraus Braun and Phoebe Palmer; great-grandfather of John David and Aryn. He will also be greatly missed by his dear friend, Edna Littlehale. JAMES RICHARD S. Age 92, of Seneca Hills Village, Penn Hills and formerly of 315 Biddle Avenue, Wilkinsburg, died January 12, 2015. He was born August 13, 1922, the son of the late Walter and Priscilla Smith James. Upon graduating from Wilkinsburg High School, Richard enlisted in the US Army where he served during WWII. Following his discharge, he was employed at Westinghouse Corp. where he worked for over 40 years. Richard was a long time member of the Mifflin Avenue United Methodist Church; he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the well known Westinghouse Male Chorus for over 50 years. Richard was an accomplished bowler and horse shoe pitcher, and he was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Anna Marie James; a daughter, Janet James; a sister, Elaine Lovett; and a brother, Thomas James. Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Brooks (Larry) of Klamath Falls, Oregon; a son, Richard M. James of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Matthew and Debbie Brooks and Adam James; a great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews and a special caregiver and friend, David Frohlich. KUSHNER MICHAEL DAVID Age 96, on Friday, January 9, 2015, of Whitehall. Michael was born on September 29, 1918, in Whitaker and grew up in Homestead. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary (Tomko) Kushner; his wife of 46 years, (Emma) Jane Clarke Kushner; his sister, Marguerite Harding; and his brother, John (Bob) Kushner. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Peg Clarke of Bryn Mawr, PA; along with many nieces and nephews including, Edward Clarke of Mt. Lebanon, Michael Harding of Hixson, TN, and David Kushner of Brentwood. Michael graduated from Homestead High School in 1936 and from the University of Pittsburgh in 1947. He joined the United States Navy in 1943 and in 1944 became a Naval Aviator at Pensacola, FL piloting the PBY. During WWII he was a Seaplane Pilot and throughout the Korean War he maintained his flying status as a Week-End Warrior. After special training, he was designated as the Instrument Flight Instructor for his squadron. He retired from the Naval Reserve, in 1966, with the rank of Lieutenant. Michael was employed, for 32 years, as an Industrial Engineer for USX Corporation before retiring in 1978. An avid bridge player and golfer, Michael was a member of South Hills Country Club from 1966 until 1998 and a volunteer with the local PGA course rating team. He also volunteered for many years at Kane Regional and Jefferson Hospital. Michael was a child of “The Great Depression” and thus he saved everything and could fix anything! On behalf of Michael, his family would like to extend a special thank you to the families of Steve and Sue Gilbert and Mike Murray for their friendship and to his caregivers for their understanding and compassion.
