AUGUSTINE LOIS MARIE (STEWART) Age 79, of Hartstown, PA, passed away, Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015. She was born Sept. 11, 1935, in Washington Twp., Butler Co., PA to Paul D. and Alice (Gates) Stewart. She married Harry C. Augustine Oct. 15, 1954, he preceded her in death May 4, 2002. She's survived by a daughter, Lisa Funk and her husband, Michael of Annville, PA; two grandchildren, Michael and Daniel Funk. VISITATION will be Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at RANDALL FUNERAL HOME, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown, PA and Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Fallowfield United Methodist Church, 3993 Leach Rd., Atlantic, PA. MORTON ELIZABETH EVANS Was born in 1924 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Chatham Hall and Vassar College. Married to Robert S. Morton in 1945, she moved to Pasadena in 1946 and has lived in San Marino for 59 years. Always a community activist, she was the first woman senior warden of All Saints Church and the first woman elected to be Director of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. She was a trustee, board member of the Claremont Graduate University. In the late sixties she was a founding director of the Foothill Free Clinic. She then became the founder and director of the Aids Service Center. Elizabeth has been President of the Junior League of Pasadena and the Pasadena Garden Club. In 2001, Mrs. Morton was elected to membership in the Harvard University Seminars, Leadership and Intellectual Renewal. Elizabeth was inducted into the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem. Queen Elizabeth II of England is the sovereign head of the order. During this 60th Anniversary year of the Pasadena Art Alliance, (she joined in 1955) Liz Morton is being honored as a legacy member who helped found the organization. She is honored as one of the "First Ten" Gems during this anniversary year, 2015. Besides these accolades, she was very intellectual, well read, generous and interested in and supportive of the lives of others. She is a beautiful person both inside and out and knew how to create beauty in all aspects of her life and her surroundings. As well, she enjoyed playing golf as long as she was able and played Bridge nearly every week of her life. She was an amazing woman, loved by all, including her daughter, Susan, who predeceased her in 2009; and particularly by her loving, adoring husband, Bobby, both of whom she has been reunited in heaven this day and forever more. For their love letters to one another throughout their lives continually confirmed this truth. She is survived by her remaining daughter, Liza Gossett of Bellingham, Washington; her granddaughter, Ashley Parker of Pasadena, California; and her sister, Nancy Gruner of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at All Saints Church, 132 North Euclid Avenue, Pasadena, California.
