PFUND EDWIN H. AGE 97, PASSED ...

PFUND EDWIN H. Age 97, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015. Ed was a special person who made his family very proud. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA during the Depression era into humble beginnings. He excelled in his school work and earned multiple college scholarships which he was unable to pursue since working to support his family was the greater need. Over the ensuing years, his determination and intelligence prevailed as he became vice president of Ketchum, McLoud & Grove which was a prominent advertising firm in the country. He was respected for his strong work ethic, honesty and dependability. He generously provided for his family and set an example that benefited his children greatly. After retiring at the age of 68, Ed found time for fun too! His wife, Lillian, had them playing in the golf, bridge, and bowling leagues, and Sunday he could be found ushering at the Whitehall Presbyterian Church. Ed was a voracious reader with a voluminous vocabulary. He was knowledgeable about most things and enjoyed a meaningful discussion. Ed and Lill also traveled some, enjoying Europe, Alaska and several Caribbean cruises. They finally settled in Florida to enjoy the warmer weather and easy lifestyle. Ed was predeceased by his wife, Lillian, of 70 years. He has two children who are deeply saddened by his passing. His son, Gregg (Christine); and grandson, Grant, from New Jersey; and daughter, Sandra Miller, from Clearwater, Florida. Sandra, it must be noted, was affectionately referred to as an "angel" by both Ed and Lill for her unconditional dedication to their happiness, health and well-being. Her personal sacrifices were immeasurable and the family is eternally grateful for all she has done. Burial will be private. The family requests contributions to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760. www.mossfeasterclearwater.com Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
