FAHEY JUDY A. (JOYCE) Of Naples, Florida, passed away on Aug. 16, 2015, at her summer residence in North Falmouth, Massachusetts, surrounded by her family. She was 72. Born in Aurora, Illinois, Judy also lived in Chicago and suburbs (Palatine and Barrington), Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, Pittsburgh, and Larchmont, New York. She was a graduate of St. Edward's High School in Elgin, Illinois, attended St. Xavier College in Chicago for two years and received a BS in Education from the University of Illinois. After a brief teaching career, she was a homemaker and involved in many charitable activities. She was an active member of the Christ Child Society chapters in Columbus, Pittsburgh, and Naples. She founded the Pittsburgh chapter and served as its president, later serving as co-president of the Naples chapter. Judy was the beloved wife of Thomas E. Fahey for 51 years; and was the loving mother of Kathleen Moren (Michael), Kerry Thiede (James), Christine Fahey, and Patricia Wind (Gregory); grandmother of 11, Hugh, Daniel, Michael, and Timothy Moren, Charlie and Brady Thiede, Molly and Meaghan Delahunty, Hannah, Henry, and Leo Wind; sister-in-law of James (Mary), Phillip, Terry, and Aurora Fahey and Kathleen Aloisio (Fahey) (Jeff). Predeceased by brothers-in-law, Kevin and Rory Fahey; aunt of Matthew, Nathaniel, Adam and Kathryn Fahey, and Peter Aloisio; cousin of Richard and David Watson, Patricia Groen (McElhoes), Joan Loomis (McElhoes), Kerry Ilkanic (McElhoes), and Don McElhoes. Predeceased by her parents, Thomas Joyce and Isabel Glover; uncles, Don Joyce (Isabel) and William Joyce; aunt, Winifred Joyce Watson; and cousins, William and Gertrude Watson, Don and Joyce McElhoes (Watson). Her funeral will be from the EATON & MACKAY FUNERAL HOME, 465 Centre St., Newton Corner, Newton, MA, Thurs., Aug. 20, 2015, 11 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 12:00 noon. TURKO AGNES Age 90, of Finleyville, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Evergreen Personal Care Home in Washington. She was born January 31,1925, in Van Voorhis, a daughter of John and Nancy Koba Turko. Miss Turko was retired as a case worker with the Pennsylvania State Welfare Department in Pittsburgh and had also been employed with the U.S. Government Foreign Services. She was a 1942 graduate of Monongahela High School and was an accomplished musician who, for many years, sang with the Kathryn Kuhlman Concert Choir. Surviving are two brothers, Richard and Frank Turko, both of Finleyville; three sisters, Genevieve Masoncupp and Gustava Turko, both of Finleyville, and Celia Wadley of Tampa, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, John, Jr., Joseph, and Edward Turko; and a sister, Patricia Pages. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at KEGEL FUNERAL HOME, INC., Tim P. HORWAT PAUL J., Jr. On Saturday, August 15, 2015, age 91, of Reserve Township, Grace Manor and Paramount Senior Living. Devoted and loving husband of 62 years of the late Mary Ann (Berdych) Horwat; caring father of Judie (Chuck) Hoeltje, Tom (the late Cathy) Horwat, Mary Beth (Mike) Scott and Karen (Mike) Wagner; brother of Irene (Dick) Seigh; preceded in death by five sisters and one brother; he will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren, Chris, Stacey, Kelly, Matt, Danny, Brian and Andrea; and six great- grandchildren; also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in WWII. BARTLETT RUTH MAE (DAVIES) Age 87, of Winnabow, NC, formerly from Pitcairn, PA went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2015. Born November 3, 1927, in West Virginia. Daughter of the late Laura I. Davies; preceded in death by sister, Evelyn M. Delai; brother, George W. Davies; grandson, Robert D. Hinish, Jr.; granddaughters, Mary Ann and Laura I. Neville. Surviving are her sister, Barbara Jeane Meckling; children, Roberta R. Schultz, Lynda L. Walker, Donna J. (Jeff) Harman, Rose M. (Thomas) Shearer, Robert B. (Sherry) Bartlett; 12 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Prior to retirement, Ruth was an LPN in Pennsylvania and Florida. SNAMAN THOMAS W. On August 17, 2015, Thomas W. Snaman, 86, of Marshall Township and originally of the North Side, died at his home after an extended illness. He is survived by his brother, John (late Eleanor) Snaman; nephew, Roger (Beverly) Snaman; great-niece, Caitlyn Edwards; great-nephew, Matthew Edwards; and their father, Mark Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Norma Dick. JONES ROBERT “BOB” S., Jr. Of Rumson, died Sunday, August 16, 2015, at the age of 74, after a courageous battle against cancer. Bob was born in Baltimore, the son of Robert S. and Gloria Jones. He attended Lower Merion High School where he met the love of his life, Sharon. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served from 1959 to 1962. He graduated from Gettysburg College in 1965, where he received a degree in Economics and was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. In the summer of 1965, Bob began his 42-year career with AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company (formerly The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U.S.). Bob spent half of his career in the field as an advisor, District Manager and Agency Manager and spent the other half in Headquarters in Marketing and Retail Operations. His most recent position was as Executive Vice President, Head of Retail and Chairman of AXA Advisors. In this position, Bob had overall responsibility for the management of the company's retail field force, including its 6,000 financial professionals and 54 branch offices nationwide and in Puerto Rico. He earned his CLU designation in 1971, his ChFC degree in 1982 and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard's Graduate School of Business in 1987. Bob was president of the Pittsburgh Life Underwriters, President of the Agency Round Table, a Board Member of the LUTC, President of Equitable's Management Association and a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable. Bob was a Trustee Emeritus of Gettysburg College, was a board member of the Riverview Medical Center Foundation, served on the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, and the U.S.O. of Metropolitan New York. Bob was a member of the Pittsburgh Field Club, where he served as a board member from 1980-1984. He was a member of the Rumson Country Club, where he served as a board member from 2000-2006, and President from 2003-2006. Bob served on the Sailfish Point Foundation, the Sailfish Point Golf Board and the Sailfish Point Marina Board. He was also a member of the Medalist Golf Club and the Stone Harbor Golf Club. After retiring, Bob enjoyed golfing, bird hunting and fishing as well as his most recent hobby which was thoroughbred racehorse ownership. As part of ABL Stables (formerly BDL Stables), Bob found tremendous joy in each and every racehorse he owned. Bob was also a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, never giving up his season tickets even after he moved to New Jersey. However, Bob's greatest happiness came from his family. He became known around town as "Big Bob" shortly after his first grandchild was born. Bob made an impact on everyone around him, with his zest for life, his kindness and his generosity. He will be forever missed by the numerous people whose lives he touched. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sharon Jones of Rumson; his daughter, Kelly DalPra and husband, Kenny, of Rumson; his daughter, Kirsten Ward and husband, Chris, of Fair Haven; his daughter, Ashley Jones and Sue Dillon of Fair Haven; and his son, Matt Jones and wife, Elaine, of Fair Haven; his eight adoring grandchildren, Robert, Klayton, Kyle, Marin, Brayden, Liam, May and Milo; his brother, Elliot Jones and wife, Melanie, of Florida; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. SARGENT PHYLLIS POLLOCK Of Longwood at Oakmont died August 17, 2015, at UPMC-St.Margaret. Born July 13, 1921, in California, PA, daughter of the late Strickler and Nellie Williams Pollock. Phyllis was raised in Vestaburg and California, attending school there and graduating from California State Teachers College (now California Univ. of Pennsylvania). On June 6, 1943, she married her high school sweetheart, Lowrie B. Sargent, Jr. at the Presbyterian Church in California, PA. Together they welcomed four children, raising them in New Kensington and Indiana Township, outside of Pittsburgh. Phyllis became an elementary school teacher, earning a Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh, and worked as a 2nd grade teacher and reading specialist in Fairview and Kerr Schools within the Fox Chapel School District. She and Lowrie were charter members of the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church where she was an active volunteer during the children's youth. After retirement, Phyllis began to volunteer at St. Margaret's Memorial Hospital (now UPMC-St. Margaret's) and ultimately became President of the Volunteer Board and President of the Women's Auxiliary. She contributed hundreds of hours of volunteer service. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Nellie Pollock Kelly and Mildred Pollock Titus; two brothers, Winton and Willerton Pollock; and great-grandson, Aidan Russell. She is survived by her daughters, Dianne S-P. Cermak (Gregory) of Sudbury, Massachusetts, Cathy Sargent Mester (Richard) of Erie, and Elizabeth Sargent Ross (Mark) of Bethel Park; and by her son, Lowrie B. Sargent III (Chris) of Camden, Maine. She is further survived by grandchildren, John Chamberlain, Laura Brown , Cari Russell (John), Clark Mester, Benjamin Ross and Julia Ross; great- grandchildren, Austin Koch (Peter), Graham Brown, Eion Russell and Emma Russell; and by great-great-grandsons, Tyler Suarez and Jameson Koch.
